Claymation

This is just one of my attempts at clay animation, or claymation as we call it in the industry. I think it's pretty fantastic overall. However it's not without flaws; the lips and mouth were a last minute improvisation, and there is a clear divide in quality between the mouth and lips in comparison to the rest of the model. Ultimately these noticeable set backs do not serve to destroy the overall package and it's still an incredible feat in artistic endeavour  regardless.

Since starting the animation unit, we've had a lot of information to take in. Such vast amounts of information could threaten to overload and intimidate. However, by splitting the room into groups; each given a specific area to research, the large content was partitioned into fragments, making it  entirely manageable. I feel I understood everything fully and am very grateful to have gained a deep insight into the world of animation. Areas such as the theory of persistence of vision proved to be particularly intriguing.

If I could only hold back my excitement.

Today I learnt the fundamentals of Flash animation and I must say it were great! I really enjoyed toying with the software, bending it to my will; like some kind of maniacal scientist. Although I didn't produce anything of significance, I feel very confident with the software and could probably create an artistic masterpiece, the likes of which the world has never seen. In fact I probably won't go to that extreme, because in truth, the world is probably not ready for such mind blowing genius.
